Discuss reenacting civilian impressions for the period.

Going out attire

Not sure if anyone knows but did the soldiers have a set of civvys to change into. ie for the evening? Or was it a case of once they were in a redcoat that was pretty much it?

One set of small clothes and one large red coat per year . . . and dont worry its ALL paid for ;)

Older sets of clothes were often kept and adjusted into work and fatigue jackets (think what the light infantry wore on campaign or similar) but i think the general idea was that if out and about in town one were to look ones best!
